Rei is the Secretary General of the University Space Engineering Consortium- Global (UNISEC-Global).

UNISEC-Global is an educational NGO that aims to support, facilitate and promote practical space projects, including building satellites and rockets at the University level. She served as Secretary General of UNISEC from 2002-2011 and as Chair of the Committee for International Relations from 2011 in Japan. She took on the new role of in UNISEC-Global in 2013. The NGO received Observer status at the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space in 2017. Rei has a BA in Chinese literature, an MA in Leadership Studies (Azusa Pacific University) and an MSc in Space Studies (International Space University).
